Global Health Committee
Mission
As nonpartisan national security experts, we inform the debate around global health issues that affect national security by providing factual information to decision-makers and educating the public. Advocating for policy regarding sound science solutions is a primary function of this committee.
Strategic Challenges
Health Security is National Security.
It is important for the United States to remain at the forefront of medical research and development, and to cooperate/coordinate on health issues with aligned nation-states across the globe.
The United States’ disengagement from global health organizations creates challenges for effective collaboration and prevention efforts between nation-states.
The effects of a global pandemic have created long term, lingering health and socio-economic issues.
The ability to coordinate among public health organizations, the military, and diplomatic entities is tantamount to ensuring health security.
